After graduating from the Secondary School of Music in Ljubljana, Andraž Babšek continued his education at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg (composition and choral conducting). Since 2025, he has served as the head of musical activities at the Jesuit College and is the Chapelle Meister of the Music Chapel.

For his creative work, he has received a gold plaque at the Temsig competition, the 3rd prize from KZ Glasis for an arrangement of a Slovenian folk song, the 2nd prize at the Music Stars composition competition in Warsaw for the piece Zadušene misli (Suppressed Thoughts), and, in the field of conducting, a silver plaque and a special award for a young choir conductor at the regional competition in Zagorje in October 2025.

In June 2026, he received the Arrupe Award for reviving the activities of the Jesuit College Music Chapel as its Chapelle Meister and artistic director.
