MAGIS is an international adventure for young people (aged 18-35) from all over the world who are interested in Ignatian spirituality. Firstly it was conceived as an Ignatian Youth Celebration taking place right before the World Youth Days. Now, MAGIS celebrates God and the Youth in Europe every summer.

In some countries, this experience is extended throughout the whole year through regular organized activities.

A MAGIS event usually consists of two parts: Ignatian experiments in smaller groups (15-25 people) and the Festival at the end, which unites all MAGIS participants.

The program is organized by the Jesuits in collaboration with female Ignatian congregations. Every year this experience has a different topic and is held in a different location.

The main purpose of MAGIS is to develop the relationship with God within a community of young people that come from different countries and backgrounds, but with the same desire of expressing their faith in God.

Magis 2020 will be in Hungary and the neighbouring countries Slovakia, Austria and Romania. The central theme of MAGIS 2020 will be the Eucharist: “You are my Bread, my Life, my Love”.

This year there are more than 15 different Ignatian experiments available to be chosen by the participants. These experiments are divided into 5 different topics: Spirituality, Arts and Culture, Social, Ecology and Pilgrimage. Each activity will be based in a different location from August 1 to August 7. The final event will take place in Miskolc on August 8 and August 9.
