The musical activities of the Slovenian Jesuits date back to the founding of the Jesuit College at St. James in the 16th and 17th centuries. Four years after the founding of the Jesuit College in Ljubljana, the Jesuits established a music seminar, which consisted of a polyphonic vocal-instrumental ensemble typical of the time. The music seminar was also linked to musical theater and the art of dance. Many Jesuit alumni of that era were exceptional musicians, such as the composer Janez Krstnik Dolar, whose extensive body of work attests to the sophistication of the Slovenian musical scene at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Jesuit College Music Chapel was revived in 2017 as a vocal-instrumental ensemble, and in 2025, the installation of an organ further enriched musical activities at the Jesuit College. In addition to its extensive liturgical and concert activities, the ensemble also organizes concert series, educational programs, and other events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
